Event Details

This year's annual play therapy conference will be at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel and Trade Center in Marlborough, MA.  Saturday Registration begins at 8:30 am.  Lunch will be provided and vendors will be present throughout the day.

"Flexible Play Therapy in Trauma Treatment"

with Paris Goodyear-Brown, LCSW, RPT-S

Flexibility in Play Therapy: filling your tool box with the best from prescriptive, trauma focused, cognitive behavioral play therapy, multi-sensory and expressive play therapy approaches to meet each client's needs.

 

 Paris' learning objectives  are:

 

 


1. After the session, participants will be able to  describe the components of the FSPT model.

2. After the session, participants will be able to list five strategies for helping clients build  narratives that combine the linguistic narrative with sensory material.

3. After the session, participants will be able to describe  five practical strategies for soothing the physiology of traumatized children.

4. After the session, participants will be able to delineate five play therapy interventions that counter cognitive distortions.

5.  After the session, participants will be able to articulate the role of parents in co-regulating their children.

The Conference training events are designed for psychologists, counselors, school counselors, social workers, marriage-family therapists, play therapists, graduate students, and other professionals who work with children and families.

Sign-In/Out:    Attendees must  Sign-in daily upon arrival and Sign-Out daily at departure.
